Business & Lifestyle Blog

In a chance meeting (completely Universally guided, obviously!) I had a conversation with a healer about her business. We were at a mastermind meeting that should have had six attendees, but instead it was just the two of us. When I told her what I do (I said something like, “I help women with sales and business strategy, so the content and events they are putting out into the marketplace make sense, and get good results, AKA, more sales.”)

Her response was: “Oh, I don’t care about money. I’m here because I want to help as many people as I can.”

Do you know how many times I’ve heard that in the decade+ of me in the coaching industry?

More times than I can count.

I’ve surrounded myself with a lot of healers, because I believe in the power of their work, and I think most of them can use a little help with getting seen / being more visible by more people…and getting more sales.

As we got deeper into the conversation, she admitted that she could use more money right now and that there were a few hires she wanted to make, but couldn’t afford them at the moment. And then she went on to say – unprovoked by me – that she probably needed to raise her rates and stop giving so many discounts… “It’s just that so many of my clients really can’t afford it.”

(She lives in one of the most expensive counties in the United States.)

With her permission to reflect back on what I’d been hearing, I pointed out to her that she was actually repelling money.

To say “I don’t care about money,” while also admitting to yourself that things would be easier and better if you could afford more than you can right now, is sending mixed signals 👍🏻 🙅🏻‍♀️ to the Universe.

There is nothing inherently wrong with “money.” Some bad people do bad things with it. And good people do wonderful things with it.

If you consider yourself a good person, I would hope you would also see that you’d likely “do good” with your money.

Hiring someone – giving them a chance to earn a living and spreading the energy of currency around – is actually exactly what we should be doing.

We are all living in an energetic universe, and if you are playing small, not charging enough, working for free, and not hiring for what you need… you are not serving anyone, including yourself or your family.

It’s a give and take. When you have more, you can share more.

So check your mindset and be sure that your words, and what you really need, are on the same pathway.

And quit believing other people’s stories around money. I’ve seen it again and again – people sharing that they’re “broke” and then purchasing a program for $20,000. They purchased it because they believed in what it would get them, and they decided to invest in themselves — and because someone asked them to. When you believe their story, and don’t make an offer to work with you, or offer it for free, you are disempowering them … and hurting yourself.

I want you to be able to create the exact life you want! And that includes building a business that works for you, not against you.

Let’s chat about what’s possible!

I have VIP Days, a Mastermind Group Program and One-to-One Coaching options.

PS: I’m planning my next free mastermind event and am going to do a theme this time, meaning, I’ll encourage you to show up with something in hand that you want to get feedback on.
